Volunteer with Emmanuel City Mission

At Emmanuel City Mission, we connect homeless and vulnerable people with people who care; our volunteers are the people who care.

We believe in a church that is a field hospital for the sick and broken: our volunteers embody this, serving at the coalface every single day and caring for Brisbane's most vulnerable and often overlooked.

As a ministry, many of our volunteers see Emmanuel City Mission as a calling and vocation. If you too feel called here and want to become a part of a mission that is changing lives every day, we would love to hear from you.

Whether you can commit to once a week, once a fortnight, once a month, or just when you can, you are welcome here.

Volunteer with us!

If you are interested in volunteering with Emmanuel City Mission, please follow these 4 steps:

Come in for an Orientation: We run a ‘Come and See’ session every Wednesday 10am, which is involves coming in to the mission to get a feel for the space. This runs for approx 30 minutes.

Obtain a valid positive notice Blue Card: All volunteers require a Blue Card (Working with Children Check). If you do not have one already, you can apply for one online either before or after the Come and See session. We will be required to link your Blue Card to ECM.

Agree to and sign our Confidentiality and Code of Conduct Agreements: As part of your volunteering at Emmanuel City Mission, all volunteers must agree to our Confidentiality and Code of Conduct Agreements. This is all a part of the orientation process.

Get in Contact with our Volunteer Coordinator: If you would like to become a volunteer, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator on: contact@ecm.org.au
