HARVEST has become reality

Over the past 12 months, thanks to some amazing support from our wonderful partners - ECM's kitchen, HARVEST has become a reality.

HARVEST caters for over 100 visitors every day. From small numbers in 2019 (serving BBQ sausages in bread) every day for lunch - to hot and nutritious meals – which varied each day of the week in 2021. Over the past year, ECM served over 33,000 meals, including breakfast, morning tea and lunch to every homeless and vulnerable person who walked through the doors.

Our visitor’s will often say that walking into HARVEST is like walking into someone’s home. The atmosphere, the aromas of delicious meals being prepared and most importantly, the feeling of love, comfort and security.

This wouldn’t be possible without the support of organisations who have partnered with us to fund the purchase of commercial kitchen equipment required to prepare nutritious, home-style meals. In addition, being able to process, cook and store in large quantities for future use.

Our goal for the next year is that HARVEST becomes a fully accredited industrial kitchen which, when not used as a food relief service, would be transformed into helping equip vulnerable people with the skills and confidence they need to enter or re-enter the workforce.
