Please give a gift this Christmas

Emmanuel City Mission is a place of new beginnings.

Where kindness can make a difference in someone's life. Where there is no judgement or labels used. A place where great healing can happen.

We know the difference it can make for someone to receive a warm meal, to take a shower, have clean clothes and somewhere safe to rest.

But, we also know that it’s the human connections that really have the power to make a profound difference in someone’s life.

This Christmas, these are the only labels you’ll need…dignity, kindness, respect and love.

Please lend your support today to show people like Morgan and Benny we are always there for them and they will always be a part of the Emmanuel City Mission family.

Meet Morgan

Morgan has been coming to Emmanuel City Mission for the past few months and recently he shared some amazing news with us.

After four years on and off the street and some truly dark times, he had finally found transitional housing and was hoping to move into work later in the month and even spend some time with his children.

“After 4 years on the street, you really do give up and think there is no hope. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without Emmanuel City Mission, the people here just lift me up and keep me going, I’ve never felt the love of a place like I do here”

Meet Benny

Nearly 7 years ago today, Benny visited Emmanuel City Mission for the first time for a hot meal. He has been visiting ever since and is now part of our family.

After a serious work injury back in 2010 Benny’s life started to unravel, he lost his wife, his job, his house and even his dog. His life started to spiral out of control and he became addicted to drugs and alcohol and ended up homeless on the streets of Brisbane.

“I love the people here, they are my family, whether I duck in for 5 minutes to say hello, or stay all day and catch up with people, it fixes me up and I get the love and support that I need. This is my family, this is my home.”
